Storkcraft furniture has won several awards and honours from their vendors. They offer cribs, gliders, toddler beds, toys, and change tables and much more besides. All of their products meet or exceed rigourus testing and safety requirements.

One of their biggest sellers are cribs. Since cribs are one of the most things you must buy for your baby, they offer a few tips for you.

- never buy from a garage sale. The crib could have been modifed, painted with toxic paint, missing pieces, or have mold on it. Always make sure your baby's bed is new, clean, and safe.

- keep the crib empty. Dont pile it up with stuffed bears, pillows, blankets. All of these can harm the baby. Use only a fitted sheet and blanket; enough to keep baby warm and safe. And always keep baby's room at a comfortable temperature. Make sure the mattress is firm and well supportive; if it is not, throw it out and get a new one.

- and especially never buy or use cribs made from before 1986. In Canada, these cribs are illegal. They do not meet safety standards and could be dangerous. Always look for the manufacturers date of production to see when it was made. If you are in the States, check with your local or state law.
